Approaching Retirement
Retirement is a stage in life that, like any other, is to be approached with optimistic expectation. Many look forward with confidence to this new phase of their lives and derive happiness from it. Many others, however, approach retirement with anxiety. They may find themselves unable to cope with the changes that retirement brings and fail to take advantage of the numerous opportunities that it presents for a satisfying and fulfilling life.
Work is not just a source of income. It also gives a structure to life, provides challenges, a sense of purpose and, in most cases, companionship. Re-establishing these features in retirement requires careful thought and planning and our primary objectivehere at the Tayside Pre-Retirement Council is to help you to make your plans for your retirement.
To achieve this, our courses are designed to offer help, advice and information to people approaching retirement. Unlike a commercial concern, e.g. some finance/insurance companies that run retirement planning courses, we are a non-profit making organisation. The Information and advice that we offer is impartial and unbiased by any commercial consideration.
